Nissan Key Technology — What We Work With
Nissan uses Philips ID46 transponder chips across most of their range from 2001 onward. Older Micra (K11) and Primera (P10/P11) used simpler Texas Instruments chips. Nissan's Intelligent Key proximity system (available on Qashqai from 2007, Juke from 2010, and all current models) uses an encrypted ID46 with rolling code RF — requiring pin-code extraction via OBD for all-keys-lost scenarios. The Nissan Leaf uses a dedicated EV key system on the same OBD platform. We carry Nissan-specific CONSULT III compatible tools for all programming tasks.

Nissan Car Key Questions — Answered
How much does a Nissan Qashqai key replacement cost in Leeds?
Nissan Qashqai key cost depends on generation. J10 (2007–2013) standard remote key: £85–£130. J11 (2014–2021) and J12 (2021+) Intelligent Key proximity: £140–£210. All prices confirmed over the phone — Qashqai is one of our most common jobs so we can usually quote precisely from the registration number alone.
Can you replace a Nissan key without a dealer?
Yes. Nissan dealer key replacement costs £200–£400. We use Nissan CONSULT-compatible OBD tools and complete most Nissan key jobs in 45–65 minutes at your location. Qashqai, Juke, and Micra are all standard jobs we handle daily across Leeds.
My Nissan Qashqai Intelligent Key is not being detected — what is the problem?
Intelligent Key detection failure is most often a flat CR2032 battery or the key losing its RF registration. We can re-register the proximity function on-site. If the car also refuses to start, the ID46 transponder has de-programmed — full re-sync via OBD needed. Diagnostic and re-programme takes about 40 minutes.
Do you cover Nissan Juke key replacement in Leeds?
Yes. Nissan Juke (F15 2010–2019, F16 2019+) uses Intelligent Key on most variants. F15 Juke uses ID46 OBD programming; F16 uses a newer encrypted system. Both handled on-site. Juke key replacement: £140–£210.
Can you help with a Nissan Leaf key in Leeds?
Yes. The Nissan Leaf (first and second generation) uses a standard Intelligent Key system — the EV drivetrain doesn't change the key programming procedure. Cost is the same as equivalent Nissan models: £140–£210 for a proximity key.
Do you cover Nissan NV200, NV300, and NV400 vans?
Yes. NV200 (Primastar-based) uses Renault Trafic-platform key system. NV300 is the Vivaro/Trafic platform. NV400 shares with the Vauxhall Movano. All three use ID46-based systems we programme on-site. Van keys start from £90.
How quickly can you reach me with a Nissan key emergency in Leeds?
We respond to Nissan call-outs across all Leeds postcodes in 25–45 minutes. Rothwell LS26 and Middleton LS10 — our most common Qashqai call-out areas — are 25–35 minutes from our base.
Can you cut a spare Nissan Juke key while I still have my original?
Yes. Second key with original present: £85–£145 depending on model. If the original is later lost, all-keys-lost cost rises to £140–£210. We cover all Leeds postcodes same-day for spare key jobs.
