Hyundai Key Technology — What We Work With
Hyundai uses Texas Instruments ID60 transponder chips on most models from 2010 onward, with ID47 (AES 128-bit) on newer models including the Tucson NX4 (2021+), Ioniq 5, and Ioniq 6. Older Hyundai (i10 IA, i20 PB) use simpler ID46 chips. Hyundai's BlueLink smart key (proximity) is available on Tucson, Santa Fe, and Kona from around 2018 — requiring OBD-level pairing with the SMK (Smart Key) ECU. All-keys-lost Hyundai jobs require pin-code extraction from the immobiliser ECU via OBD.

My Hyundai i20 remote key has stopped working after a battery change — why?
After replacing the battery in a Hyundai remote key, the remote sometimes loses RF sync with the BCM. You can re-sync by sitting in the car, inserting the key, and pressing the lock button for 5 seconds — but if this fails, we re-register the RF function on-site in 20–30 minutes.

Is a Hyundai Kona key replacement the same as a Tucson?
The Kona OS (2017–2023) uses ID60 on standard variants and ID47 on the Kona N and electric version. Kona SX2 (2023+) uses ID47 across all variants. Tucson TL uses ID60; Tucson NX4 uses ID47. We confirm which system your specific vehicle uses when you call with the registration.
