Kia Key Technology — What We Work With
Kia uses Texas Instruments ID60 transponder chips on models from 2012 onward (Sportage QL, Ceed JD/CD, Picanto JA). Newer Kia models including Sportage NQ5 (2022+), Niro HEV2, EV6, and EV9 use ID47 AES 128-bit encryption. Kia's Smart Key system uses an OBD-level SMK ECU programming procedure identical to the Hyundai equivalent. All-keys-lost requires PIN extraction from the immobiliser module. We carry Kia-compatible HKG diagnostic tools for all generations.

If the smart key is detected (car recognises proximity) but won't start, the issue is usually the transponder chip de-linking from the ECU — separate from the RF proximity system. We re-programme the transponder on-site. If neither proximity nor start works, full OBD re-sync needed: 50–65 minutes.
