Citroën Key Technology — What We Work With
Citroën uses PSA group BSI (Body Systems Interface) as the central security module — identical to the Peugeot architecture. C1 (shared with Toyota Aygo and Peugeot 107) uses a simplified ID46 system. C3 (A51/SX), C4 (B7/B41), and C5 X use progressively newer BSI generations requiring EEPROM read for all-keys-lost scenarios on post-2018 models. Berlingo Mk3 (K9) uses the same BSI as the Peugeot Partner — a common and well-understood PSA commercial key. ë-C4 and ë-C3 use the PSATEC EV platform with proximity smart key. We carry PSA BSI read/write tools for all UK-market Citroën generations.

My Citroën C4 key fob has stopped remote-locking the car — what should I do?
Replace the CR2032 battery first. If remote locking still fails, the fob RF has lost sync — we re-sync on-site. If the car also won't start, the BSI has dropped the transponder registration and needs a full OBD re-sync: 45–60 minutes.
